about

This is a compilation of these 3 eps eye self-released in 2011. I made the artwork for all 3 and made 300 of each, (900 all together) and sent them out in the mail to people I admired, friends, sold few, gave a ton away at shows, gas stations & out on the street. I spent an indeterminate amount of time, money & effort on these and decided it would be more convenient and economic, plus it seemed like it was meant to be a retrospective type thing, so I put em' all together and added some bonus tracks at the end from 2012 with my brother Unspeak. I feel like these "degrees" or "parts" are a learning experience. At the time I didn't have many people around who wanted to start a group so I just decided to play all the instruments and produce everything myself. I also didn't have a computer so it took me a while to get them online, later Joe Taylor (of Blag'ard) put me on @ his independent label Pig Zen Space, and sold them on the cheap with foldable/printable covers on the label's site. (they're still available along with a lot of other great N.C. music!) These songs were also recorded by my friend (?) Detour out in a cabin shack and in his house out in the middle of the woods. He later would turn us down for future recordings...? I feel like these early recordings are an interesting look at the beginning... Thanks so much for supporting D.I.Y. Music.

about

Speak N' Eye Winston Salem, North Carolina

Our language in our music speaks to the down and out
it speaks to the helpless who want to help themselves and fight the good fight
It speaks to the struggle because the struggle of our lives is all we have.
and in the lodge of remembrance our struggle will be judged as the artists we are
we must continue to create our art and fight on. Rite on.
